August Newsletter

Welcome back to school! We are so excited to get started with the 2026-2027 school year. This year is going to be a lot of fun for our EMS Bands!

Parents, please help the 7th and 8th grade Band students remember to bring their instrument to school on Monday, August 10th. We hope to get started playing as soon as possible, although we will have to remind the students of some class policies and procedures on the first day. By the way, your students will be bringing home a new Band folder for this year. There will be some important paperwork for you to sign and return as soon as possible. Please don't forget the back side! Also, many students like to personalize/cover their folders with duct tape. We do encourage the students to do this as the folder is more durable with the tape, and is more likely to last throughout the year.

Beginner Band students and parents, we can't wait to meet you and get started making music together! Don't worry if you don't have an instrument, yet. We will have a parent meeting on August 18th where parents will have an opportunity to meet the Band Directors, get information about what we do in Beginner Band, and  American Band Instrument Service will be there for parents to discuss options for purchasing an instrument. If you already have an instrument, students will need to bring their instrument to school on August 19th when we can all begin playing music together.
